What does CAC buy?

CAC buys a wide range of metals, including both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. If you have any additional questions beyond what’s listed on our website, please contact us at (780) 465-0589.

Is there any material CAC do not accept ?

We do not accept non-recyclable materials, items contain hazardous liquids, radioactive materials of any type, and items that are considered as compressed cylinders. Although loads with mixed non-metal materials (ie tires, wooden pallets, etc) may be accepted, their weights will be deducted from the load and dumping fees may be charged. Please check our ‘Unacceptable Materials‘ page for a full list of items that we do not accept and feel free to call us at (780) 465-0589 if you would like any clarification.

How much do you pay for scrap metal?

Pricing varies periodically and depends on the type of metal. We never deceive customers on price, because we want every new customer to become our regular customer. Please call us for the current market price and our team will quote you fairly depending on the material type, quality and quantity.

Do I need to drain the fluids from my scrap before bringing it in?

Yes, all fluids must be drained before materials arrive in our yard. If and when exceptions are made, disposal fees will apply. For specific details or instructions, please call us at (780) 465-0589.

Do you pick up?

Yes! Whether we supply different sizes of bins to be delivered to your site, or send our equipment/trucks to your location, we will have a solution that’s fit for you. Connect with our sales rep Connor at (236) 878-7072 to arrange a site visit and see how we can best help you.

Do I need to bring my ID to sell scrap metal to CAC?

Yes, Alberta has legislation in place to regulate scrap metal transactions, primarily aimed at preventing theft and ensuring accountability within the industry. The Scrap Metal Dealers and Recyclers Identification Act requires that scrap metal dealers record all transactions, including the collection of valid government issued photo ID (eg. drivers’ license) for every customer.

How do I get paid for my scrap?

We offer a variety of payment methods, including wire transfer, cheques, and small amounts of cash. Our team will confirm your preferred payment method when you bring your scrap in.
